Breakfast, Networking & Educational Series - January 25, 2018
7:30am - 10:30am The Hope Club, 6 Benevolent Street Providence
Session One: Donor’s Dreams, Investment Realities
Speaker: David Hohler, CFA, Senior Investment Officer, BNY Mellon
Description: Charitable donors are increasingly interested in how their gifts are invested – but too often their perception of what constitutes an appropriate investment strategy may be more a dream than a reality. When a donor’s ideas about investing turn out to be incorrect, it can lead him or her to feel confused, disappointed or even angry. To avoid this, it’s important for everyone with an interest in the management of a trust – the donor, the investment manager and the charitable organization – to understand the root of these misconceptions so they can be better prepared to face the realities before them.
David Hohler has over 15 years of investment management experience and his clients include secondary schools, healthcare groups, colleges and universities, religious organizations and community foundations. David’s extensive background and experience in investment management enables him to work directly with his clients to design, implement, and actively-manage their investment portfolios. In addition, he provides counsel and advice on best practices regarding asset allocation, spending rates, investment policy, manager selection, and performance evaluation.
